Panoptikon
Premiere 10th of February 2023 at Cornerteateret, Bergen
Welcome to the Cabinet of Curiosities! Welcome to a room where time stands still for your entertainment. Where lifeforms far from adorable, rather repulsive, will invite you to enter their universe. Here, you will meet: the historic Ape Woman - Julia Pastrana, horror-icon Frankenstein, half-bull/half-human - the ancient Minotaur, Topielica the water-demon, and even the Troll! “Lucky I’m not the monster!” - you may think as you meet these creatures, and breathe a sigh of relief. But are you truly sure?
This solo performance by Dominika Minkacz-Sira is an exciting and sometimes frightening journey through a world of monsters known from mythology, horror movies and popular culture, while also being a story about becoming familiar with your own weaknesses.
The audience will have a chance to meet these familiar personalities and their challenges. Perhaps they aren’t as mysterious and strange as we imagine?
Panoptikon is a kaleidoscopic puppet-theatre performance where puppets, objects, acting, animation, video and song are layered to create a rich universe to lose yourself in.
For many years OWT has wanted to create a performance for adults and youths, and is now proud to present Panoptikon.
